What a written quote covers, what can move it, and what stays on your side of the line. Read it once; it's shorter than a driveway.

The written quote

A quote is a per-square-foot price for the job as measured on site, with the finish, thickness and tear-out named on it. It holds unless the job changes. Things that change a job: more square footage than was measured, a thicker slab for an RV or a lift, decorative finish added after the fact, old concrete under the topsoil nobody knew about, or drainage work that turns out to be needed once the forms are set. When any of that shows up, the revised figure is put in writing and agreed before the pour, never billed afterward. Prices on the driveway, patio and slab pages are the market ranges we quote from; the quote is the number.

Cure times

Foot traffic after 24 to 48 hours, cars after about 7 days, heavy trucks and RVs closer to 28 days when the mix approaches full strength. Those figures are on the crew's walk-through and in the quote. Driving on a slab early is the one thing that undoes good work in a weekend, and damage from it isn't a warranty matter.

Cracks

Concrete on Montgomery County clay will crack at some point; the job is controlling where. Tight cracks inside a control joint, and fine surface crazing, are the material behaving normally. A crack that goes offset or keeps widening is a different thing, and the crack guide tells them apart so you know which kind you're looking at before you reach out.

Permits, approvals, utilities

Where a new approach meets a county-maintained road, Montgomery County may require a driveway or culvert permit through the precinct commissioner's office for your area; that permit is the property owner's to obtain, and we'll say when it applies. HOA and architectural approvals for patios and pads are likewise yours. Anything buried on the property — sprinkler lines, low-voltage wiring, a septic lateral — needs to be pointed out before the tear-out starts.

Where we pour

Conroe, Willis, Montgomery, Magnolia, New Caney, Cut and Shoot, and the rest of Montgomery County. A job outside the county gets a straight answer when you first ask.

Who is doing the work

This site is the way in. The crew you speak to on the phone is the crew that measures, pours and finishes, and the workmanship is theirs. When the quote is handed over, ask for their insurance certificate — the same question you should put to every contractor who bids the job.

What this website is

The guides here explain how concrete behaves in this part of Texas and what it tends to cost. They are general. The quote for your slab, and only the quote, is the commitment.
